11 Université Paris-Est (UPE), founded in 2007, is a national community of universities and establishments (Communauté d’Universités et d’Établissements - Comue) which comprises 22 institutions characterized by the diversity of their missions and their ministerial links. Université Paris-Est, a public scientific, cultural and professional establishment (EPSCP), is under the supervision of the French Ministry for Higher Education, Research and Innovation. Université Paris-Est, a community acknowledged as regards public policies and societal debates related to the municipality, the environment and health, highlights its potential through two multidisciplinary theme-based fields: Health and Society, mainly on the Créteil Maisons-Alfort site, and a Town, Environment and their Engineering field, mainly at Cité Descartes and today embodied through the I-SITE FUTURE «Inventons les villes de demain» (Let’s invent the cities of tomorrow) project.
