The candidate must provide evidence of at least one year’s work. No registration fees are required for the first stage but the candidate must submit an electronic application to the Resumption of studies and validation of acquired experience office (BREVA – Bureau de reprise d’études et de validation des acquis) containing : l a completed contact form (which can be downloaded from the www.univ-paris-est.fr website); l a detailed CV; l where appropriate, a selection of publications or important research. The candidate is then invited to attend a meeting where advice and guidance is provided on how to ensure that the application is administratively and academically admissible. N.B: steps 1 and 2 are invoiced at a flat rate by UPE Management Board. Unlike the “Validation of Acquired Experience” procedure, it takes into account only work and studies written by the candidate at the time of application and requires no further research. The UPE PhD by published work procedure consists of three stages: 1 admissibility of the application. 2 drafting of the thesis document. 3 defence of the thesis.
