FOCUS ON THE I-SITE The I-SITE call for proposals launched by the President of France as part of the second Investment programme for the Future ( Investissements d’Avenir ) in 2014, seeks to boost attractiveness and showcase sites recognised internationally for scientific excellence in their specialised areas. The I-SITE comprises: • a label of excellence: the international jury-based selection process is above all a sign for the quality of the research and courses produced by the institutions selected; • financial resources: this call for proposals provides successful candidates with funds of several million euros a year; • stronger momentum and closer synergies buoyed by academic partners in the same territory (universities, schools, research bodies) as the I-SITE’s goal is to forge closer ties with socio- economic stakeholders in order to drive collectivemomentum. BUDGET Université Paris-Est and the involved institutionswill receive a (non- consumable) capital of €280million, representing annual interests of €9 million.
